Description

The Haitian-born self-taught artist Damien Paul signed this original oil on canvas painting, representing a daily life scene in Haiti. It is a 24"x 16" vintage oil on canvas painting sold unframed. It is in overall good condition, except for the paint peeling in the lower left corner and the missing letter "L" in the signature. The art was initially bought from the artist. The price has been reduced to reflect its condition. (See images)

About this artist

Paul Damien was born on October 16, 1941, in Drouillard in the plain de Cul-de-Sac. After primary school, he went to the Art Center, where he began to do iron sculptures in 1969. Later, he started to paint primitives. He now specializes in the fields of ironworks. (Haiti Voodoo Kingdom to Modern Riviera, pp. 123)
